Keynote Speaker & Training Facilitator
As a keynote speaker, ScholarshipsA-Z will deliver a 30-60 min presentation designed to inspire and educate your audience while aligning it to your event’s core message.
As a facilitator, ScholarshipsA-Z will provide one of our multiple 90-minute presentations. Participants will receive a PD certificate after completing a session. Our selection of presentations includes:
- Policy 101 – This workshop is designed to teach attendees about policies that affect Undocumented youth in Arizona and how to best support them in their journeys during and after high school.
- Undocu-Guide: FAFSA, CSS, and More – This workshop is designed to equip educators with the knowledge and tools needed to guide Undocumented students through the complex world of financial aid. Participants will learn how to navigate the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile, focusing on eligibility criteria for Undocumented students in Arizona. The session will also explore scholarship opportunities, including private scholarships and state-specific programs. Educators will be better equipped to break down financial obstacles and open doors to opportunity for our Undocumented youth.
- Building Initiatives for Undocumented Youth – This interactive workshop will guide educators to work in groups to create roadmaps of initiatives that support Undocumented youth in their work settings. Participants will also become familiar with SA-Z’s online resources including the Educators Toolkit which is a guide for institutions to create welcoming spaces for Undocumented youth & families.
- Reimagining Support – In Arizona, 1,000 Undocumented students graduate annually yet, only about 5-10% of those students pursue higher education, and far less successfully graduate with a degree. Even when Undocumented students are accepted into higher education institutions, they often receive inaccurate or incorrect information about how to complete a university procedure.Educators will begin their commitment to actively support Undocumented youth in their schools by identifying ways that they can shift from having a passive allyship mindset, into becoming an active accomplice working with and for Undocumented students.
