There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.” – Toni Morrison

Scholarship List Manager

Danielle Khambholja immigrated to the United States from India when she was turning nine years old. After moving to Tucson, she graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and minors in Africana Studies and American Indian Studies before returning to the university to complete her Master’s Degree in School Counseling in 2018.

During her first year as a school counselor, Danielle joined ScholarshipsA-Z (SA-Z) as a member of the Educators Committee. There was a need for support for undocumented youth on campus and Danielle sought out the organization to become better educated on the challenges that the immigrant community faces. Since that time, she has participated as an Immigrant Scholarship Hustle reviewer and volunteer. In 2019, Danielle began managing the scholarship list for the organization.

Outside of ScholarshipsA-Z, Danielle continues her work as a school counselor at Sunnyside High School. She uses her position to support immigrant youth and families and to advocate for a more inclusive school environment that will meet the needs of every student.

Danielle strongly believes access to education is a right for all youth and remains loyal to ScholarshipsA-Z because of the indispensable work they continue to do for the community.
