Darlene Peralta was born in Sonora, Mexico and migrated to Tucson, Arizona at the age of 7 with her family. After graduating High School in 2018 she felt discourage at the limited opportunities available for undocumented students, she began to research ways she could attend and pay for school and after seeing the work scholarships a-z had done in the past it encouraged her to continue her pursuit for a higher education.

Darlene is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in general sciences at Pima Community college and hopes to later transfers to a university for a biomedical engineering degree. She hopes that during her time with the sa-z team she can help others in their pursuit for a higher education as well as to continue to support others in her community.
