Leslie Rivera

She/Her/Ella

Education Outreach Specialist

Leslie Maria Rivera is pursuing a double major in Medicine and Care, Health, and Society with a minor in Spanish at the University of Arizona. Born in Hermosillo, Sonora, she always maintains a sense of cultural pride as a Mexican migrant. Her current studies complement her future career
goals in the healthcare field to become a Nurse Practitioner one day. Being a part of the Hispanic population in Arizona, her goal as a college student and future healthcare professional is to help others in every aspect regarding educational equity, human health and rights. As an Education Outreach Specialist, her position grants her the great opportunity to uplift and advocate for her community through educational events that will promote a positive difference towards the success of our youth. By increasing visibility and awareness of ScholarshipsA-Z programs in Pima County, she will be supporting an organization that has greatly influenced her personal confidence in reaching higher education and being able to advocate for those who are similarly in her situation as an undocumented college student.

“I understand the crucial need in Arizona, and in this country, for professionals, policy-makers, and leaders, to comprehend and support students, by placing value in their dreams and careers regardless of their background status.”
